COPTR: Community Owned Digital Preservation Tool Registry
COPTR: Community Owned Digital Preservation Tool Registry describes tools useful for long term digital preservation and acts primarily as a finding and evaluation tool to help practitioners find the tools they need to preserve digital data.
One such tool is the POWRR Tool Grid. The Tool Grid, created in 2013 as a part of the Preserving Digital Objects with Restricted Resources project, includes a matrix comparison software tools and utilities for digital preservation and is designed to help practitioners identify and select tools to help solve digital preservation challenges.

Digital Preservation at Library of Congress is the home to the National Digital Stewardship Alliance, Digital Preservation Outreach and Education and the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program.
This site contains information about digital preservation standards and best practices, tools and services and education and training. There is also information on personal digital archiving which provides guidance on how individuals and families can preserve their digital memories.
Digital Preservation Coalition
A digital preservation advocate, The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is a membership organization that supports their members through knowledge exchange, capacity building, assurance, advocacy and partnership.
The DPC has created tools like the Preservation Handbook, a guide to digital preservation planning; Technology Watch Reports, advanced digital preservation instruction to specific preservation issues; and What’s New in Digital Preservation, a digest of new events and projects, to help organizations get started with digital preservation.
Digital Preservation in a Box
Created by the National Digital Stewardship Alliance in 2015, Digital Preservation in a Box is designed as a toolkit to support outreach activities that introduce the basic concepts of preserving digital information. Preservation tools available include a Digital Preservation tutorial, glossary of terms, format-specific advice and resource links, links to resources on storage infrastructure, resources for digital preservation education and event planning, as well as a brief introduction to digitization.
